The days are getting shorter and there is a definite briskness in the air. Autumn is nigh and that can only mean one thing... jazz at Sylvie's Place is back!!!
Sylvie's Place is pleased to present Baby Jools and the Jazzaholics Wednesday, 5 September. We are definitely in for a treat! With their high energy, rollicking New Orleans style, Baby Jools and the Jazzaholics always leave their audience wanting more.
Leader, Julyan Aldridge, aka Baby Jools, keeps the beat with his masterful drumming, ably assisted by Brian Mellor on banjo and guitar and Jim Swinnerton on double bass.
Front of house, Mike Owen on trombone, Denny Illett on trumpet and Karl Hird on tenor sax and clarinet, bring the melodies to life. And when you throw in the odd vocal, the result is magic.
It may be cooler outside, but with Baby Jools and the Jazzaholics in the house playing their style of hot traditional jazz, you mght just think those steamy summer nights have returned.
